High tide what a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday

Overall

I cannot say enough about this property, pulling up I felt my stress just subside. The covered parking is a bonus in this heat. After we dropped off our things we went to the beach, it is literally a 7 min walk. When we got back home the outdoor (which had hot water)shower not just a hose and was a bid bonus. Going back up we really took in the house itself, the enclosed deck off the dining room is a life saver to keep the littles confined, you can relax in the chairs and look out to the ocean. The front deck has a large bench with cushions that each of us ended up napping on. My favorite spot though was off the master bedroom, I got up grabbed a hot cup of coffee and settled in to watch the sunrise, the furniture was so comfortable on the second morning my daughter found me asleep in the chair, lol. The shower in the master bedroom was also unexpected it is beautiful! 5 of us took showers and never ran out of hot water another bonus. Saturday afternoon we walked to 49th street grill and had appetizers and beverages( both were delicious) while watching some football, I loved how close everything is, we only drove our cars when we went to go have dinner at the KoKo Cabana, again highly recommend. We did make a short trip to SouthPort to walk around and eat at the famous FISHY FISHY. Back "home" the kids room is so cute with a tv and there are games to play which was nice because we didn't think to bring anything with us. The open floor plan was great for not being on top of each other, all in all it was a great stay and we all agreed this will be our new yearly trip.

Overall

I don't think I can adequately describe this rental property. We met up with family to celebrate birthdays. everything about our long weekend was beyond what we were expecting. The house itself is amazing, it is well cared for kept up and very clean. The enclosed porch worked out so well for us, we could corral the kids in and play games while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. Every Morning you could find my mom on the balcony with a hot cup of coffee watching the sunrise. The kids enjoyed having a tv in their room and we loved that we had some cartoon free time. The walk to the beach was only 5 mins so no need to drive and the outdoor shower was a blessing to get the sand off everyone. We went to 49*th street bar and grill to catch the football game it is a really fun spot; the bartender was quick with the refills and the burgers were the best. YOU have to also head over to KOKO Cabana another great spot to eat, it is right next to the pier which was really nice to walk out on too. There is a little of something for everyone in Oak Island the kids had a blast between the beach, park and their favorite nightly ice cream walk. We are definitely planning another family trip, but we are also arranging a kidless weekend with friends and can't wait to hang out on the balcony playing cards and being able to explore more of the beach and all this cute town offers.
