1st time at Oak Island-the house was perfect for us!

My husband, our daughter (11 at the time) and myself stayed at "A Dream Came True" last summer, towards the end of August. It was our first time visiting Oak Island and we fell in love right away. We are natives of Baltimore, MD so our past beach vacations were always at over-crowded places like Ocean City and that just wasn't enjoyable, not to mention how expensive everything was there. This place however is perfect for those looking for a quieter more family-friendly summer vacation. This house was lovely too, which of course is a huge part of what made our stay so great. It's not a beach-front property, but it is still very close. Just across the road, so if you walk it's not bad or if you rent a golf cart then it's very easy! It was really very spacious, with a huge dining room table, and the living room was very comfy. The bedrooms were a good size, as well as the mattresses, and I slept in all 3 rooms (just bc of back problems & spousal snoring) and the beds were all comfortable. I only had two complaints; one was the washer had mold in it, but I see they have replaced both washer & dryer so that's no longer an issue. Two was the bathroom attached to the master room was too small, plus too hot, since no A/C vent is in that bathroom. But the other bathroom was great, so that really wasn't an issue for us, maybe for some other people though. This house truly did make our first trip to Oak Island memorable and I'm hoping to book at this house again for this summer coming up! (2024)
